联合国正在为应对叙利亚难民潮积极进行准备。目前，大约有10万叙利亚人为逃避暴力冲突离开家园逃往周边国家土耳其和约旦。联合国警告有可能爆发叙利亚人大逃亡，难民人数有可能增加到20万人。因此现在必须进行准备，为援助难民筹备资金。负责叙利亚难民事务的联合国协调员莫姆西斯（Panos Moumtzis）说： "近日来，每天有大约150人越过边境进入约旦，土耳其3天内接纳了1500多难民。"在约旦和黎巴嫩，很多难民受到亲朋好友的接纳。土耳其为难民设置了8个帐篷营地。
