Journalist and author Hadija Haruna-Oelker will kick off the Herbsttreffen der Medienfrauen with her keynote speech, "The beauty of difference." Her book of the same title, published in 2022, underscores the value and enrichment found in diverse perspectives.

Following the keynote, Haruna-Oelker will join authors and journalists Sibel Schick, Waslat Hasrat-Nazimi, and Mithu Sanyal in a panel discussion titled "Beyond white feminism." The panel will explore the concept of intersectional feminism and discuss constructive approaches to making feminism more inclusive. Intersectional feminism acknowledges that individuals can face overlapping forms of discrimination, and its goal is to address and dismantle all forms of it, not just gender-based discrimination.

Another key topic is the "Gender problem of AI," which will explore how artificial intelligence perpetuates gender stereotypes and its implications for women, non-binary and trans individuals.

Participants of the Herbsttreffen der Medienfrauen can choose two from more than 25 in-person workshops to delve deeper into these topics. This year's event will focus on one-on-one knowledge exchange and networking among women. In addition to workshops, there will be interactive formats such as Ask Me Anything sessions and other engaging elements. CatCalls of Bonn will also be hosting an exhibition for the event.

*This year's 46th edition of the Herbsttreffen der Medienfrauen is hosted by DW, Deutschlandradio, and Phoenix. It is open to all women employees of ARD, ZDF, and ORF, as well as intersex, trans, and non-binary individuals working in these organizations.
