New management team for DW Culture and Documentaries

On September 1, Jochen Rosenkranz took over as Director of DW's Culture and Documentaries department, following in the footsteps of Rolf Rische.

Rosenkranz succeeds Rolf Rische, who has played a key role in shaping the publications of DW's Culture and Documentaries department for over 30 years and will in future be responsible for special projects as Chief Editor Culture and Documentaries.

Jochen Rosenkranz has been working for DW for three years and was previously Head of the Life and Style Department. In the early days of his 25-year journalistic career, he worked as a reporter and later as a director of various tv formats. As Senior Program Manager at ProSiebenSat.1, he was responsible for the development of journalistic formats and finally spent more than ten years at production companies managing formats for private and public broadcasters in the areas of entertainment, talk and reportage.

Rosenkranz: "The biggest difference compared to my previous jobs is the complexity of the tasks at DW. As an Executive Producer for German broadcasters, I used to produce formats for a single target group with my teams. Now there are formats in countless versions, for many different target groups, in a variety of languages. I'm always amazed that it works so well. And I'm delighted with my top-class management team, who routinely juggle this complexity."
