據德新社報導,中國藝術家艾未未希望獲得德國總理梅克爾的幫助。這位政府的批評者周四(5月23日)在北京對德新社表示,如果梅克爾在中國政府總理李克強本周末在柏林訪問時提及他的境遇,將是很大的幫助。他指出,他的護照依然被警方沒收,使他不能出境。他強調,新政府若能讓像他這樣的藝術家得到去任何地方的自由,便能展示出「自信」。2011年,艾未未得獲假釋歸因於德方的干預。
