Vattenfall is selling 9-thousand 700 kilometres of power lines

It is supposed to boost competition and make electricity cheaper for customers here in Germany. The European Commission has said energy producers who also own the grid hold a monopoly--and has ordered them to split up. That is what the power company Vattenfall has now done.
