US Wants Balanced Global Economy, China Wants Influence

At the Pittsburgh summit, US President Obama is expected to push the G20 countries to find ways of ending the imbalances in the global economy, such as the huge American trade deficit with China. For a long time, the US has called on China to change the exchange rate and increase the value of the renminbi yuan against the US dollar, which would make imports from China less attractive and American exports cheaper. But China has its own preoccupations.
