More than 100 schools have been destroyed in Kharkiv, a city near the Russian border, as a result of thewar in Ukraine. That has led to an initiative to offer lessons in subway stations to allow for more than 2,000 students to receive an education in a secure space.

The Ukrainian city has now built schools in five subway stations throught the city. Students can receive a few in-person lessons there before doing the rest of their lessons online at home. This rotation allows more students to benefit from a classroom education.
