Turkey conducts military operations against PKK separatists inside Iraq - je 24. 10.2007

Turkish military forces have reportedly carried out raids inside Iraq over the past few days. Military sources told the Reuters news agency that warplanes and troops had attacked Kurdish rebels inside Iraq. The Iraqi government has said it will prevent the rebels from operating on its soil. But it did not specify how it plans to stop the cross border incidents that have prompted Ankara to mass its troops on the border. Officials from the two countries held crisis talks in Baghdad on Tuesday. Ankara faces mounting domestic pressure to act .
