Those protests around the world over increasing food prices are a result in part to pumped up production of biofuels. Critics say biofuels take up too much farmland--at the cost of food production. The EU has defended the use of biofuel to cut harmful CO2 emissions, but now says it may cut back the 90 million euros a year it pays to subsidise fuel from the farm. +++SYN+MAZ+++
