Texas shooting suspect killed in police standoff
June 13, 2015Dallas police confirmed on its Twitter feed on Saturday afternoon that the suspect was shot by police snipers after fleeing the scene in an armored vehicle hours earlier.
The suspect, who gave his name to police, is affiliated with three different family violence cases - if he is who he claims to be.
Police cornered the suspect in the nearby suburb of Hutchins on Saturday after gunshots were fired at a police headquarters in Dallas. Four bags, some containing explosives, were also found scattered around the station. Officials posted images of the damage on Twitter, after one of the bags exploded when a police robot attempted to move it.
No police officers were injured in the attack.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said on Saturday that authorities believed the attacker was acting alone, motivated by personal grievances, and had no known connection to any terrorist groups.
