Train drivers across Germany are striking this Friday, creating havoc for commuters. Reports from across the country suggest that between thirty and fifty percent of local and regional services are out of action. Passengers can expect delays all day. The strike went ahead despite signs of progress at a meeting between Deutsche Bahn management and the GDL union. Deutsche Bahn boss Hartmut Mehdorn says he's going to make a new offer to the train drivers on Monday.
