#European leaders have begun arriving in Brussels for what was SUPPOSED to be a summit +++ LM-REIN +++ on foreign policy. However the meeting looks set to be dominated by France's controversial deportation of Roma people. On Wednesday EU commissioner Viviane Reding caused a storm of controversy by indirectly comparing the deportations to the situation in World War Two and questioning their legality. +++ LM-RAUS +++ Paris said this was unacceptable. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also criticized the tone of the comments.
