We begin in Moscow - where a court has handed down a sentence set to further deepen the divisions in the country over the role of the Orthodox Church in politics and over Kremin influence on the judiciary. Judges have sent the three women in the band Pussy Riot to jail for two years. Announcing their decision - the judges said the trio was motivated by "hatred and enmity" when they disrupted church services "gravely offending relgious sensibilities". The six months the girls have spent in pre-trial custody will count as time served.
