Prosecutors Demand 40-Year Jail Term for Duch

25/11/09November 25, 2009

A day before Cambodia's UN war crimes tribunal in Phnom Penh wraps up the court heard the closing arguments in the case against former Khmer Rouge prison chief Duch on Wednesday. While lawyers for the prosecution demanded a 40-year jail term for Duch who has pleaded guilty, the Cambodian defence lawyer claimed Duch had not been a senior Khmer Rouge leader at all and was just being made a "scapegoat" by the tribunal.
