Pope Benedict XVI has told the people of Australia that he is deeply sorry for the sexual abuse of children by some Catholic priests. During a mass in Sydney, the pontiff said that the abuse was a great betrayal of trust that has damaged the church. Benedict is in Australia for the World Youth Day celebrations, which have drawn Catholics from all around the world.
