Pope Benedict arrives in Amman, beginning a Mideast visit that could test his diplomatic skills

Pope Benedict has started a delicate trip to the Middle East by expressing "deep respect" for Islam and by calling for a three-way dialogue of Christians, Muslims and Jews to help peace. The 82-year-old's first papal visit to the region will take him to Israel and the Palestinian territories. It began in the Jordanian capital Amman.
