The Brazilian sugar cane industry is booming. This is mostly due to the demand for ethanol which is used as biofuel. But a large part of the sugar cane waste is simply burned, resulting in increased carbon emissions and air pollution. Now a new project using German-Brazilian technology, will in future turn the waste into plastic.
