Some immigrants make better progress in school than their German counterparts. A recent study reveals that in the former East Germany, students with Vietnamese parents are often the better pupils. In the state of Brandenburg, three-quarters of all such children go to schools leading to university education. They are the children of former East German contract workers and thoroughly ambitious, reaching the top in spite of difficult family situations. It's a story of successful integration. We visit Vietnamese families and visit classes to discover the secret of their success.
