Opposition parties attack Chancellor Angela Merkel in a parliamentary budget debate

Chancellor Angela Merkel has been defending her government's budget plan for 2010--which includes a record 80 billion euros of new borrowing. German opposition parties hammered Merkel's coalition of conservatives and free democrats in the parliamentary debate for mistakes since taking office five months ago.
