Matchday 20 in pictures
New-signing Andre Schürrle wasted no time in showing the difference he can make for Wolfsburg! Dortmund, Hertha and Bayern all picked up their first wins of 2015. Check out matchday 20 in pictures!
Relief in Dortmund
A 3-0 win Freiburg and finally Dortmund's dreadful run comes to an end of five games without a win, lifting them off the bottom of the table. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored twice and set up Marco Reus for the opener as Dortmund rediscovered their confidence and lifted the weight off their shoulders.
Bogey teams are helpful
Stuttgart could probably have sent Bayern the three points before kick off. After 13 meetings, the Stuttgart have yet win win although this weekend they were much improved. Bayern were not as dominant as they were in the first half of the season, but thanks to two great goals by Arjen Robben and David Alaba, they sealed a 2-0 win - their first victory in 2015.
Worth every penny
32 million euros was apparently what Wolfsburg shelled out for Andre Schürrle and he wasted no time in showing his new team what they had signed. Two assists and an impressive overall performance, Schürrle has already left his mark. The rest was up to Kevin de Bruyne, who scored a brace to down Hoffenheim 3-0.
Mayhem in Mainz, calm in Cologne
Despite having Jos Luhukay sacked earlier in the week, Hertha Berlin picked up perhaps an unexpected three points against Mainz. A 2-0 win all came about after Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius was sent off in the first half. Elsewhere, Cologne and Paderborn sealed a 0-0 draw - a result that helped neither side.
Barnetta the match-winner
Schalke sealed a 1-0 win on Friday night against Gladbach thanks to a first-half goal from Tranquillo Barnetta. Gladbach were short of their best, but should have perhaps been braver in attack against a Schalke side who sat very deep after taking the lead. Schalke have now gone five games undefeated for the first time this season.
Hamburg take points
In the battle of the teams known as 'HSV', Hamburg took three points with a 2-1 win over Hannover. The Red Shorts went into a two-goal lead through Zoltan Stieber and Marcell Jansen, two of the scorers in midweek at Paderborn. Artur Sobiech's consolation couldn't earn a point for Hannover.
Meier levels
Augsburg were denied the chance of moving into third after Alex Meier's 14th league goal of the season, which snatched a point for Eintracht Frankfurt. It's the first draw of the season for Markus Weinzierl's men who were two-nil ahead.
Bremen fans purring for more
Four wins in a row - Werder Bremen are on a roll under Viktor Skripnik. The River Islanders beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 on home soil to move into eighth spot. Just four weeks ago, Bremen were bottom of the league. Davie Selkie and Zlatko Junuzovic struck for the Northern Germans.
