Major Asian stock markets took a further plunge today on continuing fears that a U.S. recession could derail global economic growth. A sharp drop in U.S. stock index futures indicated traders in New York could join the global sell-off when they return to work after Monday's back holiday. European shares are also set to continue their downward trend. Monday saw their biggest one-day slide since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in the United States. +++SYN-MAZ+++
