Even when the dOCUMENTA isn't running, art is everywhere in Kassel. Works from past exhibitions dot the cityscape, among them some 7000 oaks that Joseph Beuys once planted as an art installation. But there's much more to discover: Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, a landscape park that has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2013. The water features, with cascades falling down into the valley, are unique. Two famous academics, linguists and cultural researchers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, lived here in the early 19th century. The Brothers Grimm Museum contains original editions of their "Children's and Household Tales".
