Journalist remains handed over
March 3, 2012The bodies of the US journalist Marie Colvin and French photographer Remi Ochlik were delivered to representatives from two different embassies on Saturday.
French ambassador Eric Chevalier received the remains of Ochlik, while a Polish diplomat took responsibility for Colvin's remains. Poland represents US interests in Syria.
Colvin and Ochlik were killed last month in the Baba Amr district of the city of Homs when a series of explosions and rockets struck a makeshift media center where several other journalists were based.
French reporter Edith Bouvier of Le Figaro newspaper and British photographer Paul Conroy were also wounded in the attack.
The bodies of Ochlik and Colvin were taken to a French hospital in the Kassah district of the city. No date has been announced for the repatriation of the remains.
