EU Environment Ministers are meeting today in Brussels to try to pick up the pieces on climate policy following the disappointing results at the Copenhagen talks. The EU had hoped to lead the way in forging an ambitious agreement but ended up sidelined by the US along with China and other emerging economies. Sweden, which holds the EU rotating presidency until the end of the year, said the EU needs to learn from the disaster. Some Europeans are calling for a new import tax on goods from countries with lax climate change laws.
