Hungary - a country that just a few years ago was hailed as one of the great success stories among the new eastern EU members - has assumed the bloc's six month presidency under a cloud of misgivings about its commitment to the Union's core values. The European Commission was in Budapest today - for talks with the Hungarian leadership - especially about new media legislation that Germany and France say amounts to censorship.
