As the Greek government takes the steps deemed necessary to get its debt crisis under control, a nationwide public sector strike against the harsh new austerity measures brought much of the country to a standstill Thursday. Flights were grounded. Public transport, including vital ferry services, was out of service. State hospitals were left with emergency staff only...and all news broadcasts were suspended as workers walked off the job for 24 hours.
