Governments around the world, and even multination blocs like the European Union, are rushing to introduce measures to combat the looming economic recession. But there is no consensus on how best to jump-start a faltering economy. Here in Germany, Chancellor Merkel has spoken out against measures such as pumping hundreds of billions of Euros into the economy, and lowering Value Added Tax. She believes the steps her government has already taken will be enough. But critics say her "stimulus package" isn't really stimulating at all, and much more is needed to keep the German economy in good health.
