Germany to Compensate Victims of Nazi Medical Experiments

The more than 1,700 survivors of Nazi concentration camps who were subjected to medical experiments will be entitled to a one-time symbolic compensation – totaling more than €4,292 ($5,400) – to be paid out by the German government. The payments will be administered by the New York-based Claims Conference, which also negotiated discussions with the German government resulting in compensation for slave and forced laborers in. According to victim's testimony gathered by the Claims Conference, Nazi doctors carried out 178 different types of experiments on human subjects in more than 30 different concentration camps.
