Germany and the European Union hope to secure support for financial market regulation when they meet at the G20 in Pittsburgh Thursday. The Europeans say they want to protect taxpayers from a repeat of the dark days of Autumn 2008 when governments were forced to spend Bbillions to rescue big banks. The United States is also keen to prevent a reoccurence of the financial crises, but has its own agenda.
