German government optimistic: Number of unemployed dropped to 3.5 million this month - je 27.09.07 16 UTC

Unemployment figures in Germany were reported today, and Germany's Federal Employment Agency says the total unemployed dropped from 3.7 million in August, to 3.5 million this month. That's 162,000 people fewer than a month ago. The figures mean UNemployment is now at 8.4 percent in Germany, the lowest rate in nearly 12 years.
