Frozen Fondness

"Better safe than sorry" seems to be the motto Germans follow when deciding on a menu for an intimate rendezvous: More than 60 percent of them rely mainly on frozen foods to impress their object of affection, according to a study carried out by Germany's GfK research institute.
There are some limits to taking the easy route when preparing that special dinner. Only 25 percent of Germans said they would order pizza and 14 percent said they wouldn't mind cooking with cans for their date.
But almost 70 percent of Germans agree that a delicious dinner is the most important factor in guaranteeing success -- whether it's been defrosted or freshly made.
Ambiance on the other hand only plays a minor role in winning over the other one's heart: According to the study, only 19 percent of Germans think music's an important factor and a mere 11 percent are convinced that they'll succeed on the basis of the decorating talents.
