The freed hostage Ingrid Betancourt has departed Colombia on a flight to her adopted home country of France where she's due to meet the French president. This comes a day after she was rescued in a dramatic operation from FARC rebels in Colombia. Her rescue along with 14 other hostages is seen as further setback for FARC but a major boost for Colombian president Alvaro Uribe who has vowed to crack down on the rebel group.
