Fears of radioactive contamination... as fires in Russia get close to land polluted by Chernobyl

There are concerns at this hour that the wildfires burning in Russia could spread radioactive contamination from the area hit by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Should the blazes reach polluted woodlands and brush in the restricted zone close to the border with Ukraine, there's the possibility smoke could send radiaoactive particles into the atmosphere. German government experts say no risk would be posed to the rest of Europe.
