Fabergé Egg Breaks Sales Record at Christie's Auction

About the size of an ostrich egg, it's one of the largest eggs ever made by Peter Carl Fabergé. Its translucent pink shell is a favorite color for collectors and it is one of only three in the world with a clock built inside. Commissioned over 100 years ago, it was kept in the Rothschild family until last week, when it was auctioned at Christie's in London. The auction broke two world records -- making the cockerel crow with delight.
