Spain has more bars per capita than any other country in the world. There are six bars for every thousand people. This doesn't mean they are all big drinkers but the Spanish bar is multi functional and is often a home away from home. The German writer André Dominé is an expert on bars and we went bar hopping - or should I say cocktail hopping - with him in Spain's second city, the Catalan capital Barcelona.
