Dog-nappers Nab Ralf Schumacher's Pooch
July 2, 2005Scoopy is an obedient dog, according to Ralf Schumacher. The chihuahua runs around its master while they're out for a walk like a good little pooch. So when one day Ralf turned around and Scoopy had disappeared, he suspected foul play.
"I didn't lose it," said the younger brother of Ferrari world champion Michael Schumacher. "Basically I went out and all the sudden it was gone."
The German driver had no qualms about returning to the race track on Friday for the first time after a serious crash in Indianapolis in June, but the fate of Scoopy has really thrown him.
"It seems to be frequent that they basically nick dogs and try to sell them back but we haven't heard from anybody yet," said Ralf, who brought the dog, then a puppy, home from Spain for his son David after a race there four months ago.
"It's a lovely dog, let's hope we get it back," he said.
