Voters in the UK have voted for Britain to leave the EU. Markets have been volatile and the pound on a rollercoaster ride. Read the latest from our teams.

Britain has decided to leave the European Union with proponents of Brexit too far in the lead for the Remain side to be able to catch up. While the pound surged following the release of polls predicting Britain would remain, it plummeted as trading started on Asian markets amidst uncertainty. A final result is not expected until later on Friday morning.
