Berlin Cathedral
January 16, 2017Advertisement
The cathedral's modest predecessor was demolished, as it was considered no longer prestigious enough for the reigning Hohenzollern family, who resided in the City Palace right next to it. The monumental new cathedral was built in Neo-Renaissance style, and is now 98 meters in height. Its main attractions include the Imperial Staircase, the Hohenzollen Crypt which contains the remains of more than 90 rulers dating back to the 16th century and the dome walkway, which offers spectacular views of the city center.
