Beethoven! Next Level Breakdance

Classical music and breakdance combine to produce something extraordinary. "Beethoven! The Next Level" is a unique cross-over project. It premiered in Dresden on Thursday. The B-Town Allstars Breakdance Crew interprets Beethoven's life - including his inner conflicts - through contemporary dance.

Christoph Hagel and breakdancer Khaled Chaabi are the artistic directors of the production. Chaabi also stars as Beethoven in the piece, and he did the choreography too.

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770 and is considered a genius of the First Viennese School. Yet his life was also wrought with difficulties: He suffered the pain of unrequited love, and later went deaf, leaving him isolated from his peers and unable to hear his music
