Arts.21 - Solo for Oboe – Albrecht Mayer and his Love for Venice - 06.09.2008

Sebastian KatzerSeptember 7, 2008

When he plays, it is as if his instrument has turned into a human voice. A star player in the Berlin Philharmonic, Albrecht Mayer is considered one of the world's greatest oboists. Because Venice is the place where his instrument began its triumphal march, the 43-year-old has dedicated his latest solo CD to 17th Century Venetian music. ARTS.21 meets this passionate ambassador for classical music.
