Chocolate island
June 30, 2016In this edition of eco@africa, we take you to São Tomé, where the once busy cocoa industry is undergoing something of a resurrection. And who doesn't like chocolate? Thought as much.
Sticking with the topic of food, we go on a jaunt around Berlin in search of alternative comestibles. Turns out lime trees are good for more than sticking your feet to the pavement at this time of year.
And we go diving in Spain, where the seabed had some unusual residents: Sculptures of human beings that are providing the local fish with something altogether different to look at and swim around.
As if that weren't enough, we also meet a South African parrot that is struggling to survive, and got to a German school where environmental protection takes pride of place in the school day.
