A 10-day national mourning period for Corazon Aquino is declared in the Philippines after the former leader dies of cancer

Tributes have been pouring in from around the world for Asia's first female president, Cory Aquino, who has died of cancer. Ms Aquino was propelled into the political spotlight in 1986 when she lead millions of Filipinos against former dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
